A Classic Ennio Morricone Score
Ennio Morricone is known the world over for his instantly identifiable scores in such films as The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly; Once upon a Time in the West; and The Mission. He has composed hundreds of others, however, and among his most famous themes in his native Italy is the one he wrote for Elio Petri’s Oscar-winning Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion, out this week for the first time on Blu-ray and DVD in the U.S. Featured on our release is the 2010 documentary Music in His Blood, in which Morricone is interviewed by film critic Fabio Ferzetti. In this clip, Morricone discusses his approach to Investigation's alternately sinister and bouncy score, which you’ll hear snippets from.
