Criterion Tube: Late and Later Night with Young Chloë and Spike

Sometimes a giggle catches on and produces more giggles. This is evidenced here by twenty-three-year-old Chloë Sevigny, as she barely gets through an interview with David Letterman wherein she is pressed for info on Harmony and an upcoming trip to Tokyo. Sometimes such giggles give me the impression that the giggler is faking, but Sevigny seems legit goofy. I remember ’98! Youth!

Spike Jonze’s appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn only contains about thirty seconds of real talking, but it’s only to play a game and it’s at the end and I doubt you’ll even watch all the way through. But the first two minutes are amazing. He’s introduced with a self-made mock bio film that is both adorable and hilarious. Young Spike! I remember ’99! Again: Youth!
